The Specified Animal Pathogens (Wales) Order 2008 art 2

art 2 Extension of the definition of “animal”, “poultry” and “disease”

For the purposes of the Animal Health Act 1981 in relation to this Order— (a) the definition of “animal” (“ anifail ”) is extended so as to comprise any kind of mammal except man, and any kind of four-footed beast which is not a mammal; (b) the definition of “poultry” (“ dofednod ”) is extended so as to comprise any species of bird; and (c) the definition of “disease” (“ clefyd ”) is extended so as to comprise any disease of animals and poultry which may be caused by one or more specified animal pathogens.
