Entry into force and date of application

Article 21

This Regulation shall enter into force on the day following its publication in the Official Journal of the European Union . It shall apply from 21 June 2012, with the exception of Article 17, which shall apply from 21 June 2011. For those participating Member States which participate in enhanced cooperation by virtue of a decision adopted in accordance with the second or third subparagraph of Article 331(1) of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union, this Regulation shall apply as from the date indicated in the decision concerned.
