General requirements concerning official inspections

Open ↗1. Official inspections shall consist of visual inspections, and, where appropriate, of sampling and testing. 2. During the official inspections, the responsible official body shall pay particular attention to: (a) the suitability and actual use of methods by the supplier for checking each of the critical points in the production process; (b) the overall competence of the supplier's staff to carry out the activities set out in Article 6(1) of Directive 2008/90/EC. 3. Member States shall ensure that the responsible official bodies produce and keep records of the results and dates of all field inspections, sampling and testing carried out by them.
