Council Decision (EU) 2016/342 of 12 February 2016 on the conclusion, on behalf of the Union, of the Stabilisation and Association Agreement between the European Union and the European Atomic Energy Community, of the one part, and Kosovo *, of the other part

Article 1

The Stabilisation and Association Agreement between the European Union and the European Atomic Energy Community, and Kosovo is hereby approved on behalf of the Union for the parts falling under the TEU and the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union.

The text of the Agreement is attached to this Decision.

Article 2

The President of the Council shall, on behalf of the Union, give the notification provided for in Article 144 of the Agreement  ( 2 )

Article 3

1.   The Stabilisation and Association Council shall be chaired on the Union side by the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, in accordance with his/her responsibilities pursuant to the Treaties and his/her capacity as President of the Foreign Affairs Council.

The Stabilisation and Association Committee shall be chaired by a representative of the Commission.

2.   The Commission shall be authorised to approve on behalf of the Union modifications to the Agreement where it provides for them to be adopted by the Stabilisation and Association Committee.

Article 4

This Decision is without prejudice to Member States’ and the Union’s position on the status of Kosovo.

Article 5

This Decision shall enter into force on the date of its adoption.
