Types of Dosing Equipment (General Use Instructions) 1. Timer-Based Dosing Pump 1. Suitable for systems with a known, fixed water volume. 2. Set the pump to run for a calculated duration to achieve the desired dosing level. 3. Always verify calculations and follow the recommended steps for setup and monitoring. 2. Flow Meter-Linked Dosing Pump 1. Designed for systems where water flow varies. 2. The pump doses disinfectant proportionally to the measured water flow. 3. Ensure the equipment is calibrated according to the calculated dosing requirements and follow standard setup and monitoring procedures. 3. Active Substance Monitor-Linked Dosing Pump 1. Maintains a target concentration of the active substance (e.g., active chlorine) in the water. 2. May also be connected to a flow meter for additional control. 3. Set the pump to maintain the required concentration, adjusting as needed based on monitoring results. Always follow the recommended steps for setup, measurement, and adjustment. General Guidance for All Equipment Types — Always read and follow the manufacturer’s instructions before setting up any dosing equipment. — Calculate dosing requirements based on system volume, product concentration, and target substance level. — Regularly monitor and adjust dosing to maintain safe and effective levels. — Document all settings and measurements for traceability and safety. Professional users - automated dosing (dosing pump) into the water system: Dose the product into the water system according to the dosing requirements. Only use for disinfection of water of drinking water quality. Do not exceed the national limits for the concentration of chlorine in drinking water. Ensure that the concentration of chlorate present in drinking water does not exceed the parametric values set in Directive 2020/2184. 4.3.2.    Use-specific risk mitigation measures Not relevant 4.3.3.    Where specific to the use, the particulars of likely direct or indirect effects, first aid instructions and emergency measures to protect the environment Not relevant 4.3.4.    Where specific to the use, the instructions for safe disposal of the product and its packaging Dispose of content/container in accordance with local regulations. 4.3.5.    Where specific to the use, the conditions of storage and shelf-life of the product under normal conditions of storage Please see general directions for use 4.4.    Use description Table 4 1.4 Disinfection of drinking water for humans (PT5) Product type PT05: Drinking water Where relevant, an exact description of the authorised use - Target organism(s) (including development stage) Scientific name: other Common name: Bacteria Development stage: no data Scientific name: other Common name: Viruses Development stage: no data Field(s) of use indoor use Disinfection at the drinking water suppliers and their water distribution systems. Professional users – automated dosing (dosing-pump): Dose the product into the water system according to the dosing requirements. Disinfection of water in reservoirs: General public (non-professional) users – automated dosing (dosing-pump): Clean the water reservoir before filling it with the water to be disinfected. Dose the product continuously into the water reservoir according to the dosing requirements. Make sure the product is evenly distributed in the solution before using the water. Professional users - automated dosing (dosing-pump): Clean the water reservoir before filling it with the water to be disinfected. Dose the product continuously into the water reservoir according to the dosing requirements. Make sure the product is evenly distributed in the solution before using the water. For disinfection of water in reservoirs: — Do not use in stationary water. — Only water of drinking water quality should be used to fill the reservoir. — The disinfected water must be used within 24 hours after preparation. Do not exceed the national limits for the concentration of chlorine in drinking water. Ensure that the concentration of chlorate present in drinking water does not exceed the parametric values set in Directive 2020/2184. 4.4.2.    Use-specific risk mitigation measures Not relevant 4.4.3.    Where specific to the use, the particulars of likely direct or indirect effects, first aid instructions and emergency measures to protect the environment Not relevant 4.4.4.    Where specific to the use, the instructions for safe disposal of the product and its packaging Dispose of content/container in accordance with local regulations. 4.4.5.    Where specific to the use, the conditions of storage and shelf-life of the product under normal conditions of storage Please see general directions for use 5.   GENERAL DIRECTIONS FOR USE OF THE META SPC 1 5.1.    Instructions for use Comply with the instructions for use.
