Common Ship Sanitation Database

Article 17

1.   The Commission shall make available a common ship sanitation database that is able to receive and store data related to the Maritime Declarations of Health under Article 37 of the International Health Regulations 2005 (IHR). Personal data relating to ill persons on board ships shall not be stored on that database. The competent health authorities of the Member States shall have access to the database for the purpose of receiving and exchanging data. 2.   Member States that use the ship sanitation database shall make known to the Commission their national authority responsible for user management in relation to that database, including the registration of new users as well as the modification and closure of accounts. 3.   The Commission shall adopt implementing acts laying down the technical specifications, standards and procedures for the setting up of the database referred to in paragraph 1. Those implementing acts shall be adopted in accordance with the advisory procedure referred to in Article 24(2).
