s 53 Giving or making false information or statement

A person who, in making an application under this Act other than an application for a licence to sell or store for sale a pesticide, gives an information or makes a statement that is false in any material particular, unless he proves that he did not know and had no reason to suspect that the information or statement was false and had taken all reasonable steps to ascertain the truth thereof, commits an offence and is liable to imprisonment for one year or to a fine of twenty-five thousand ringgit or to both.
