s 27 Appointment and powers of Inspectors

(1) The Minister may appoint to be Inspectors such number of registered chemists in the public service as he considers necessary for the purposes of this Act. (2) If an Inspector has reasonable cause to believe that an offence under this Act has been or is being committed on any premises or in connexion with any business carried on in any premises, he may, at all reasonable times, enter upon, search and examine the premises and may inspect, remove and detain any books, documents or other articles found therein that, in his opinion, may furnish evidence of the commission of the offence. (3) Any person who obstructs or impedes an Inspector in the exercise of his powers under subsection (2) is guilty of an offence and is liable to a fine of one thousand ringgit or to imprisonment for one year.

Pelantikan dan kuasa Pemeriksa

(1) Menteri boleh melantik beberapa orang ahli kimia berdaftar dalam perkhidmatan awam yang difikirkannya perlu untuk menjadi Pemeriksa bagi maksud Akta ini. (2) Jika seseorang Pemeriksa ada sebab yang munasabah untuk mempercayai bahawa sesuatu kesalahan di bawah Akta ini telah atau sedang dilakukan di mana-mana premis atau yang berhubungan dengan sesuatu perniagaan yang dijalankan di mana-mana premis, dia boleh, pada setiap masa yang munasabah, memasuki, menggeledah dan memeriksa premis itu dan boleh memeriksa, memindahkan dan menahan apa-apa buku, dokumen atau barang lain yang dijumpai di dalamnya yang, pada pendapatnya, boleh memberi keterangan tentang pelakuan kesalahan itu. (3) Seseorang yang menghalang atau menggalang seseorang Pemeriksa dalam menjalankan kuasanya di bawah subseksyen (2) bersalah atas suatu kesalahan dan boleh didenda sebanyak satu ribu ringgit atau dipenjarakan selama satu tahun.
