s 53 Casual vacancy to be filled by qualified person

(1) Any casual vacancy arising amongst the elected members of the Bar Council shall be filled by the Bar Council by the appointment of a person qualified under this Act, and the new member shall hold office for the remainder of the term of office of the member he replaces. (2) Notwithstanding any vacancy in the Council the continuing members of the Council may act if there is a quorum; and no act done by or under the authority of the Bar Council shall be invalid in consequence of any defect subsequently discovered in the election or qualification of the members or any of them.
