s 18 Appeal to operate as stay in respect only of renewal of certificate of registration
(1) Except as provided in subsection (2) an appeal shall not stay the operation of any decision of the Board.
(2) Where the Board refuses to renew a certificate of registration and the person concerned appeals to the Minister under section 17, the validity of such certificate shall be deemed not to expire on the 31st day of December and such person may continue to be employed as a medical assistant until the Minister makes an order under subsection 17(2).
(3) Where the Minister dismisses the appeal, the presumption under subsection (2) shall cease to apply and the person concerned shall, within such time as the Minister may allow, cease to be so employed.
(4) Where the Minister allows the appeal, the Board shall renew the certificate of registration on payment of the prescribed fee and on due compliance with this Act and regulations.

Rayuan berkuat kuasa sebagai penggantungan hanya berkenaan dengan pembaharuan perakuan pendaftaran
(1) Kecuali sebagaimana yang diperuntukkan dalam subsekyen
(2) sesuatu rayuan tidak boleh menggantung kuat kuasa sesuatu keputusan Lembaga.
(2) Jika Lembaga enggan membaharui sesuatu perakuan pendaftaran dan orang yang berkenaan itu merayu kepada Menteri di bawah seksyen 17, tempoh sah perakuan itu hendaklah disifatkan sebagai tidak tamat pada 31 haribulan Disember dan orang itu boleh terus bekerja sebagai pembantu perubatan sehingga suatu perintah dibuat oleh Menteri di bawah subseksyen 17(2).
(3) Jika Menteri menolak rayuan itu, anggapan di bawah subsekyen
(2) hendaklah terhenti terpakai dan orang yang berkenaan itu hendaklah, dalam tempoh yang dibenarkan oleh Menteri, terhenti daripada bekerja sedemikian.
(4) Jika Menteri membenarkan rayuan itu, Lembaga hendaklah membaharui perakuan pendaftaran itu apabila dibayar bayaran yang ditetapkan dan apabila dipatuhi dengan sewajarnya Akta ini dan peraturan-peraturan.
