s 8 Saving provision in respect of persons already employed as medical assistants
(1) Where a person is in employment contrary to section 7 on the commencement of this Act, such person may continue in his employment for a period not exceeding six years from such commencement after which he shall cease to be so employed unless—
(a) he is sooner registered under this Act; or
(b) he is, by an order of the Minister published in the Gazette, exempted from registration under this Act.
(2) Nothing in subsection (1) shall be construed to derogate from the right of an employer to terminate the services of an employee in accordance with the terms and conditions of his employment.

Peruntukan kecualian mengenai orang yang telah diambil kerja sebagai pembantu perubatan
(1) Jika seseorang telah sedia diambil kerja bertentangan dengan seksyen 7 pada permulaan kuat kuasa Akta ini, orang itu boleh terus bekerja selama suatu tempoh tidak melebihi enam tahun dari tarikh permulaan kuat kuasa itu dan selepas itu dia hendaklah terhenti daripada bekerja sedemikian melainkan jika—
(a) dia telah terlebih dahulu didaftarkan di bawah Akta ini; atau
(b) dia adalah, melalui suatu perintah oleh Menteri yang disiarkan dalam Warta, dikecualikan daripada pendaftaran di bawah Akta ini.
(2) Tiada apa-apa jua dalam subseksyen (1) boleh ditafsirkan sebagai mengurangkan hak seseorang majikan untuk menamatkan perkhidmatan seseorang pekerja menurut terma-terma dan syaratsyarat pekerjaannya.
