(1) This Act may be cited as the Destitute Persons Act 1977 and shall apply to the whole of Malaysia. (2) This Act shall come into force on such date as the Minister may by notification in the Gazette appoint and different dates may be appointed for different States in Malaysia and for different provisions of this Act.
(1) Akta ini bolehlah dinamakan Akta Orang-orang Papa Tajuk 1977 dan hendaklah dipakai bagi seluruh Malaysia. ringkas dan mula (2) Akta ini hendaklah mula berkuatkuasa pada tarikh berkuat- ›yang ditetapkan oleh Menteri melalui pemberitahu dalam kuasa. Warta dan tarikh-tarikh yang berlainan boleh ditetapkan "(P4(B)6164,→) bagi berlain-lain Negeri dalam Malaysia, dan bagi berlainlain peruntukan Akta ini.
