s 13 Information of stolen property

(1) Information as to any stolen property or as to any property which has been lost shall be given by the police, as soon as possible after the theft or loss, to all licensed dealers, with lists and descriptions of the same. (2) If any property answering to the lists and descriptions is in the possession of any licensed dealer or is thereafter offered to or shown to any licensed dealer, he shall without unnecessary delay give information to that effect at the nearest police station or to any police officer, with the name and address of the person from whom he acquired or who offered or showed him the same. (3) Any licensed dealer failing to give information as required by subsection (2) shall, on conviction, be liable, for a first offence, to a fine not exceeding two thousand ringgit or to imprisonment for a term which may extend to six months, or to both, and, for a second or subsequent offence, to imprisonment for a term which may extend to two years, and, where the stolen property consists, in whole or in part, of motor vehicle parts, the licensed dealer shall, on conviction, be liable, whether for a first or subsequent offence, to a fine not exceeding twenty thousand ringgit or to imprisonment for a term which may extend to five years, or to both. (4) The licensed dealer in such case may also detain the person offering or showing such property until the arrival of the police.

Maklumat mengenai harta curi

(1) Maklumat mengenai apa-apa harta curi atau mengenai apa-apa harta yang telah hilang hendaklah diberi oleh polis, dengan seberapa segera yang mungkin selepas kecurian atau kehilangan itu, kepada semua peniaga berlesen, berserta senarai perihal harta itu. Peniaga Sekendhend (2) Jika apa-apa harta yang bersamaan dengan senarai dan perihal itu ada dalam milikan mana-mana peniaga berlesen atau ditawarkan atau ditunjukkan kemudian daripada itu kepada mana-mana peniaga berlesen, dia hendaklah tanpa kelengahan yang tidak perlu memberi maklumat bermaksud demikian itu di balai polis yang hampir sekali atau kepada mana-mana pegawai polis, berserta nama dan alamat orang yang daripada siapa dia telah memperolehi harta itu atau yang telah menawarkan atau menunjukkan harta itu kepadanya. (3) Seseorang peniaga berlesen yang tidak memberi maklumat sebagaimana dikehendaki di bawah subseksyen (2) boleh, apabila disabitkan, dikenakan, bagi kesalahan kali pertama, denda tidak melebihi dua ribu ringgit atau penjara bagi tempoh tidak melebihi enam bulan, atau kedua-duanya, dan, bagi kesalahan kali kedua atau yang berikutnya, penjara bagi tempoh tidak melebihi dua tahun, dan, jika harta curi itu terdiri, kesemua atau sebahagiannya, daripada bahagian kenderaan motor, peniaga berlesen itu boleh, apabila disabitkan, dikenakan, sama ada bagi kesalahan kali pertama atau yang berikutnya, denda tidak melebihi dua puluh ribu ringgit atau penjara bagi tempoh tidak melebihi lima tahun, atau kedua-duanya. (4) Peniaga berlesen itu boleh juga dalam hal yang demikian itu menahan orang yang menawarkan atau menunjukkan harta itu sehingga polis tiba.
