Second-hand Dealers Act 1946 s 16

s 16 Loitering

(1) Any police officer having reason to believe that a person in or loitering about a licensed dealer’s shop under suspicious circumstances has with him any stolen property may detain such person and require him to produce any property which he has with him. (2) If any property is produced which the police officer has reason to suspect to be stolen property, he may take or cause to be taken the person and property to the nearest police station, there to be dealt with according to law. (3) If any person so required to produce such property refuses to be searched, the police officer may take him or cause him to be taken before a Magistrate, who, if he sees fit, may search or order to be searched such person and, if any such property is found, may detain him with the property so found to be dealt with according to law.

Merayau-rayau

(1) Seseorang pegawai polis yang ada sebab bagi mempercayai bahawa seseorang yang berada di dalam atau merayau-rayau di kedai peniaga berlesen dalam hal keadaan yang menimbulkan syak ada dengannya apa-apa harta curi boleh menahan orang itu dan menghendakinya mengemukakan apa-apa harta yang ada dengannya. (2) Jika apa-apa harta dikemukakan dan pegawai polis itu ada sebab bagi mengesyaki harta itu sebagai harta curi, dia boleh membawa atau menyebabkan dibawa orang dan harta itu ke balai polis yang hampir sekali untuk disenggarakan di situ mengikut undang-undang. (3) Jika seseorang yang dikehendaki mengemukakan sedemikian harta itu enggan diperiksa, pegawai polis itu boleh membawa orang itu atau menyebabkan supaya dia dibawa ke hadapan seorang Majistret, dan Majistret itu boleh, jika difikirkannya patut, memeriksa atau memerintah supaya diperiksa orang itu dan jika apa-apa harta itu Peniaga Sekendhend dijumpai, boleh menahannya bersama dengan harta yang dijumpai sedemikian untuk disenggarakan mengikut undang-undang.
