(1) The Director-General shall be the chief executive Portesoznd officer of the Institute and shall apart from having such Directorpowers and duties specified in subsection (2) or as the Board General and thinks iit to conter or impose on him, have all the powers and duties necessary for carrying out the administration and General. technical functions of the Institute.
(2) The Director-General shall-
(a) submit for the approval of the Board— b) ensure that the approved programmes are dul mplemented and that the expenditure for carryin catates sendt y c andg angeo win tho

(c) keep the Board fully informed of the progress of 'esearch, development and advisory work, an o prepare and submit to the Board as soon a blono hie a ar te ene o tae ge er iea .
(3) In the exercise of his powers and the performance of his duties, the Director-General shall be assisted by the Deputy Directors-General.
(4) Where the Director-General is unable to exercise his functions on grounds of sickness, absence or any other cause, one of the Deputy Directors-General shall exercise the functions of the Director-General.

(1) Ketua Pengarah hendaklah menjadi ketua pegawai ‹sekutif Institiut dan hendaklah, selain daripada men unyai apa-apa kuasa dan tugas-tugas yang dinyatak Ban đt bran đi tmngit tmột gn n hi eilanem
(2) Ketua Pengarah hendaklah—
(a) menghantar untuk diluluskan oleh Lembaga-
(i) program-program penyelidikan tahunan dan cadangan-cadangan kewangan yang berkaitan dengannya; dan
(ii) anggaran perbelanjaan yang perlu untuk men- Jalankan pentadbiran Institiut; Lembaga; dan akhir tiap-tiap tahun kewangan suatu laporan mengenai pentadbiran

(3) Pada menjalankan kuasa-kuasa dan melaksanakaı rims-tan-sinbalan Ketua Fargarhendaklah dibantu olel
(4) Jika Ketua Pengarah tidak dapat menjalankan fungsifungsinya oleh sebab sakit, tidak ada atau apa-apa sebal lain, salah seorang dari Timbalan-timbalan Ketua Pengaral hendaklah menjalankan fungsi-fungsi Ketua Pengarah.
