s 6 Restriction on advertisements

(1) A person shall not by any advertisement or any public notice or announcement treat or offer to treat any person for venereal disease, or prescribe or offer to prescribe any remedy therefor, or offer to give or give any advice in connection with the treatment thereof. (2) A person shall not hold out or recommend to the public by any notice or advertisement, or by any written or printed papers or handbills, or by any label or words written or printed, affixed to or delivered with, any packet, box, bottle phial, or other inclosure containing the same, any pills, capsules, powders, lozenges, tinctures, potions, cordials, electuaries, plasters, unguents, salves, ointments, drops, lotions, oils, spirits, medicated herbs and waters, chemical and officinal preparations whatsoever, to be used or applied externally or internally as medicines or medicaments for the prevention, cure or relief of any venereal disease: Provided that nothing in this section shall apply to any advertisement, notification, announcement, recommendation or holding out made or published by the Government of Malaysia or the Government of any State or by any local or public authority or to any publication sent only to registered medical practitioners or to registered pharmacists or wholesale dealers for the purposes of their business. (3) In this section and in section 5 β€œvenereal disease” means syphilis, gonorrhoea, soft chancre, or bubo (lymphogranuloma inguinale).

Sekatan ke atas iklan

(1) Seseorang tidak boleh melalui apa-apa iklan atau apa-apa notis atau pengumuman awam merawat atau menawar untuk merawat seseorang bagi penyakit venereus, atau menetapkan atau menawar untuk menetapkan apa-apa remedi baginya, atau menawar untuk memberi atau memberi nasihat berkaitan dengan rawatan terhadapnya. (2) Seseorang tidak boleh mengemukakan atau mengesyorkan kepada orang awam melalui apa-apa notis atau iklan, atau melalui apa-apa kertas atau surat sebaran bertulis atau bercetak, atau melalui apa-apa label atau perkataan bertulis atau bercetak, dilekatkan kepada atau dihantar bersama apa-apa bungkusan, kotak, botol kecil atau sesuatu bekas yang mengandunginya, apa-apa pil, kapsul, serbuk, tablet hisap, tinktur, ubat minum, kordial, electuary, plaster, unguent, salves, ointmen, titis, losen , minyak, spirit, herba dan air berubat, apa jua sediaan kimia dan officinal yang digunakan atau dipakai di luar atau di dalam sebagai ubat atau bahan ubat bagi mencegah, menyembuh atau melegakan penyakit venereus: Dengan syarat bahawa tiada apa-apa jua dalam seksyen ini terpakai bagi sesuatu iklan, pemberitahuan, pengumuman, sokongan atau pengemukaan yang dibuat atau diterbitkan oleh Kerajaan Malaysia atau mana-mana Kerajaan Negeri atau oleh sesuatu pihak berkuasa tempatan atau awam atau terhadap sesuatu terbitan yang dikirim hanya kepada pengamal perubatan berdaftar atau ahli farmasi berdaftar atau peniaga borong bagi maksud perniagaan mereka. (3) Dalam seksyen ini dan dalam seksyen 5 β€œpenyakit venereus” ertinya sifilis, gonorea, soft chancre atau bubo (lymphogranuloma inguinale).
