Births and Deaths Registration Act 1957 s 18
Subject to the provisions of this Part, the death of every person dying in Malaysia and the cause thereof shall be registered by the Registrar in any registration area by entering in a register such particulars concerning the death as may be prescribed: Provided that where a dead body is found and no information as to the place of death is available, the death shall be registered by the Registrar for the registration area in which the body is found.
Butir-butir kematian hendaklah didaftarkan
Tertakluk kepada peruntukan Bahagian ini, kematian tiap-tiap orang yang mati di Malaysia dan sebabnya hendaklah didaftarkan oleh Pendaftar bagi kawasan pendaftaran di mana kematian itu berlaku dengan mencatatkan di dalam daftar dalam pendua dengan cara menetapkan butir-butir yang berkenaan dengan kematian sebagaimana yang boleh ditetapkan: Dengan syarat bahawa jika mayat dijumpai dan tiada maklumat mengenai tempat kematian diperoleh, maka kematian itu hendaklah didaftarkan oleh Pendaftar bagi kawasan pendaftaran di mana mayat itu dijumpai.
