Election Commission Act 1957 s 10

s 10 Influencing or attempting to influence Commission

Any person who, otherwise than in the course of his duty, directly or indirectly by himself or by any other person in any manner whatsoever influences or attempts to influence any decision of the Election Commission or any member thereof shall be guilty of an offence and shall, on conviction, be liable to a fine not exceeding two thousand ringgit or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding two years or to both: Provided that nothing in this section shall prohibit any person from supplying any information or assistance upon formal request made by the Commission.

Mempengaruhi atau cuba mempengaruhi Suruhanjaya

Mana-mana orang yang sendiri atau melalui mana-mana orang lain, selain dalam menjalankan kewajipannya, secara langsung atau tidak langsung dengan apa-apa cara jua pun mempengaruhi atau cuba mempengaruhi apa-apa keputusan Suruhanjaya Pilihan Raya atau mana-mana anggotanya melakukan suatu kesalahan dan, apabila disabitkan, boleh didenda tidak melebihi dua ribu ringgit atau dipenjarakan selama tempoh tidak melebihi dua tahun atau kedua-duanya: Dengan syarat bahawa tiada apa-apa jua dalam seksyen ini melarang mana-mana orang memberikan apa-apa maklumat atau bantuan apabila diminta dengan rasmi oleh Suruhanjaya.
