s 18 Duty to provide information
Any State or competent international organization which intends to undertake marine scientific research in the exclusive economic zone or on the continental shelf shall, not less than six months in advance of the expected starting date of the marine scientific research project, provide the Government with a full description of—
(a) the nature and objectives of the project;
(b) the method and means to be used, including name, tonnage, type and class of vessels and a description of scientific equipment;
(c) the precise geographical areas in which the project is to be conducted;
(d) the expected date of first appearance and final departure of the research vessels, or deployment of the equipment and its removal, as appropriate;
(e) the name of the sponsoring institution, its director, and the person in charge of the project; and
(f) the extent to which it is considered that Malaysia should be able to participate or to be represented in the project.

Mana-mana Negara atau pertubuhan antarabangsa Kewajipan untuk memyang layak yang bernıat untuk menjalankan penye- bekalkan lidikan saintifik laut dalam zon ekonomi eksklusif atau maklumat. pelantar benua hendaklah, tıdak kurang dari enam bulan terdahulu dari tarikh yang dijangkakan bermulanya projek penyelidikan saintifik laut, memberi kepada Kerajaan perihalan sepenuhnya mengenai-
(a) jenis dan tujuan-tujuan projek;
(b) cara dan banda beradaan, ne as dan digasaeseı dan suatu perihalan peralatan saintifik;
(c) kawasan yang tepat mengikut geografi dalam mana projek itu akan dijalankan;
(d) tarikh yang dijangkakan mula datangnya dan perginya vesel-vesel penyelidikan, atau pertukaran alat-alat dan pengalihannya, sebagaimana berkenaan;
(e) nama institusi yang menaja, pengarahnya dan orang yang bertanggungjawab mengenai projek itu; dan
(f) setakat mana difikirkan yang Malaysia boleh mengambil bahagian atau diwakili dalam projek itu.
