Use permits may, subject to any contrary direction by the State Authority and to the provisions of any rules, be issued or renewed on behalf of the State Authority by the Director for the carrying out of any of the following activities:
(a) research;
(b) education or training;
(c) recreation;
(d) use of water resources except the construction or operation of hydro-electric dams;
(e) cultivation of vegetables and fodder crops;
(f) establishment of conversion plants;
(g) establishment of logging infrastructures.

Pengeluaran permit penggunaan oleh Pengarah
Permit penggunaan boleh, tertakluk kepada apa-apa arahan yang berlawanan oleh Pihak Berkuasa Negeri dan kepada manamana kaedah, dikeluarkan atau dibaharui oleh Pengarah bagi pihak Pihak Berkuasa Negeri bagi menjalankan mana-mana aktiviti yang berikut:
(a) penyelidikan;
(b) pelajaran atau latihan;
(c) rekreasi;
(d) penggunaan sumber air kecuali pembinaan atau pengendalian empangan hidroelektrik;
(e) penanaman sayur-sayuran dan tanaman foder;
(f) penubuhan loji penukaran;
(g) penubuhan infrastruktur pembalakan.
