s 17 Duration of licences
(1) (a) A licence issued under this Act shall, unless replaced or revoked, continue in force for such period as may be determined by the Board at the time the licence is granted.
(b) The period that may be determined by the Board under paragraph (a) shall not exceed seven years.
(c) When a licence is granted under this Act, the Board shall specify the date on which the licence is to come into force and the date of its expiry, and such dates shall be inserted in the licence when it is issued.
(2) If on the date of the expiration of a licence (other than a short term licence) granted under section 16, proceedings are pending before the Board on an application by the holder of the licence for the renewal of such licence under section 21, such licence shall remain in force until the application is disposed of, but without prejudice to the exercise in the mean time of the powers of suspension or revocation conferred by this Act.

Tempoh lesen
(1) (a) Lesen yang dikeluarkan di bawah Akta ini, melainkan ia digantikan atau dibatalkan, hendaklah terus berkuat kuasa bagi apa-apa tempoh sebagaimana yang ditentukan oleh Lembaga pada masa lesen itu diberikan.
(b) Tempoh yang boleh ditentukan oleh Lembaga di bawah perenggan (a) tidaklah boleh melebihi tujuh tahun.
(c) Apabila sesuatu lesen diberikan di bawah Akta ini, Lembaga hendaklah menyatakan tarikh lesen itu akan berkuat kuasa dan tarikh habisnya tempoh lesen itu, dan tarikh tersebut hendaklah dimasukkan ke dalam lesen itu apabila ia dikeluarkan.
(2) Jika pada tarikh habisnya tempoh lesen (selain lesen jangka pendek) yang diberi di bawah seksyen 16, prosiding di hadapan Lembaga berkaitan dengan permohonan pemegang lesen tersebut bagi pembaharuan lesen itu di bawah seksyen 21 masih belum diputuskan, lesen itu hendaklah terus berkuat kuasa sehingga permohonan itu diselesaikan, tetapi sementara itu tanpa menjejaskan kuasa menggantungkan atau membatalkan lesen yang diberi di bawah Akta ini daripada dijalankan.
