s 79 Departmental Committee of Enquiry into the death or injury of any police officer or into loss or damage of property
(1) A Commanding Officer may convene a Committee of Enquiry to enquire into the death or injury of any police officer or into the loss of or damage to any property entrusted to or lawfully in the possession of the Force. Such Committee of Enquiry shall consist of a President, who shall be a senior police officer not below the rank of Assistant Superintendent, and one or more members, as the Commanding Officer may direct.
(2) A Committee of Enquiry convened under subsection (1) to enquire into the death or injury of a police officer shall be empowered to make findings and recommendations as follows:
(a) whether the deceased or injured person was on duty at the time of such death or injury;
(b) whether the death or injury was directly attributable to the nature of the duty on which the deceased or injured person was engaged;
(c) whether the death or injury was due to the default of the deceased or injured person;
(d) whether a pension, gratuity or allowance should be paid in accordance with Rules made under this Act or any other written law;
(e) whether any action is necessary to prevent the future occurrence of similar death or injury to other police officers.
(3) A Committee of Enquiry convened under subsection (1) to enquire into any loss of or damage to any property entrusted to or lawfully in the possession of the Force shall make findings and recommendations to the Commanding Officer as follows:
(a) estimated cost of loss or damage;
(b) individual responsibility for such loss or damage;
(c) action necessary to prevent the future occurrence of similar loss or damage;
(d) the manner in which the cost of such loss or damage may be recovered or made good to the lawful owner of such property.
(4) In this section the expression βpolice officerβ includes all persons appointed or engaged for police duties under this Act; and the expression βthe Forceβ includes all bodies established or raised for police duties under this Act.

Jawatankuasa Siasatan bagi Jabatan berkenaan dengan kematian atau kecederaan mana-mana pegawai polis atau berkenaan dengan kehilangan atau kerosakan harta
(1) Pegawai Memerintah boleh mengadakan suatu Jawatankuasa Siasatan untuk menyiasat kematian atau kecederaan mana-mana pegawai polis atau kehilangan atau kerosakan apa-apa harta yang diamanahkan kepada atau yang secara sah ada dalam milik Pasukan. Jawatankuasa Siasatan itu hendaklah terdiri daripada seorang Yang Dipertua, yang mana hendaklah seorang pegawai kanan polis berpangkat tidak rendah daripada Penolong Penguasa, dan seorang anggota atau lebih, sebagaimana diarahkan oleh Pegawai Memerintah itu.
(2) Jawatankuasa Siasatan yang diadakan di bawah subseksyen
(1) untuk menyiasat kematian atau kecederaan seorang pegawai polis hendaklah diberi kuasa mengemukakan dapatan dan syor seperti berikut:
(a) sama ada si mati atau orang yang cedera itu sedang bertugas pada masa kematian atau kecederaan itu;
(b) sama ada kematian atau kecederaan itu boleh dikaitkan secara lansung kepada jenis tugas yang mana si mati atau orang yang cedera itu telah diguna khidmat;
(c) sama ada kematian atau kecederaan itu disebabkan oleh keingkaran si mati atau orang yang cedera itu;
(d) sama ada pencen, ganjaran atau elaun patut dibayar menurut Kaedah-Kaedah yang dibuat di bawah Akta ini
atau di bawah mana-mana undang-undang bertulis yang lain;
(e) sama ada apa-apa tindakan perlu untuk mencegah berlakunya di masa depan kematian atau kecederaan yang serupa ke atas pegawai polis yang lain.
(3) Jawatankuasa Siasatan yang diadakan di bawah subseksyen
(1) untuk menyiasat apa-apa kehilangan atau kerosakan apa-apa harta yang diamanahkan kepada atau yang secara sah ada dalam milik Pasukan hendaklah mengemukakan dapatan dan syor kepada Pegawai Memerintah seperti berikut:
(a) anggaran kos kerugian atau kerosakan;
(b) tanggungjawab tiap-tiap seorang terhadap kehilangan atau kerosakan itu;
(c) tindakan yang perlu untuk mencegah berlakunya di masa depan kehilangan atau kerosakan yang serupa;
(d) cara bagaimana kos kerugian atau kerosakan boleh didapatkan atau dibayar sebagai ganti kepada pemunya harta itu yang sah.
(4) Dalam seksyen ini ungkapan βpegawai polisβ meliputi semua orang yang dilantik atau diguna khidmat untuk menjalankan tugas polis di bawah Akta ini; dan ungkapan βPasukanβ meliputi semua badan yang ditubuhkan atau didirikan untuk menjalankan tugas polis di bawah Akta ini.
