s 86 Desertion
(1) Any police officer who, without reasonable cause, the onus of proof whereof shall rest with him, absents himself from duty for a continuous period of twenty-one days or in circumstances which show that he has the intention of not returning to his duty shall be deemed to have deserted, and shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on conviction to imprisonment for a term not exceeding twelve months.
(2) Where a person has been convicted under this section, the Disciplinary Authority may direct that all arrears of pay due to such person be forfeited.
(3) In subsection (1) the expression βpolice officerβ includes an extra police officer, a member of the Police Reserve and Police Volunteer Reserve when mobilized under this Act and any member of the police force of another territory present in Malaysia under this Act.

Pembolosan
(1) Mana-mana pegawai polis yang tanpa sebab yang munasabah, yang mana beban pembuktian hendaklah terletak ke atasnya, tidak menghadirkan dirinya untuk menjalankan tugas selama
tempoh dua puluh satu hari berterusan atau dalam hal keadaan yang menunjukkan bahawa dia bertujuan tidak akan kembali menjalankan tugasnya hendaklah disifatkan sebagai telah membolos, dan adalah melakukan suatu kesalahan dan apabila disabitkan boleh dikenakan hukuman penjara selama tempoh tidak melebihi dua belas bulan.
(2) Jika seorang telah disabitkan di bawah seksyen ini, Pihak Berkuasa Disiplin bolehlah mengarahkan supaya semua tunggakan gaji yang kena dibayar kepada orang itu dilucuthakkan.
(3) Dalam subseksyen (1) ungkapan βpegawai polisβ meliputi pegawai polis tambahan, anggota Polis Simpanan dan Sukarelawan Simpanan Polis apabila dikerah di bawah Akta ini dan mana-mana anggota pasukan polis dari wilayah lain yang ada dalam Malaysia di bawah Akta ini.
