Houses of Parliament (Privileges and Powers) Act 1952 s 19

s 19 Exemption from answering questions or producing documents

If any person ordered to attend or produce any paper, book, record, or document before the House or any committee refuses to answer any question that may be put to him or to produce any such paper, book, record, or document on the ground that the same is of a private nature and does not affect the subject of enquiry, the President, or the Chairman of the committee, as the case may be, may report such refusal with the reasons therefor, and the House may thereupon excuse the answering of such question or the production of such paper, book, record, or document or may order the answering or production thereof.

Pengecualian daripada menjawab soalan atau mengemukakan dokumen

Jika mana-mana orang yang diperintahkan supaya hadir atau mengemukakan apa-apa kertas, buku, rekod, atau dokumen di hadapan Majlis atau mana-mana jawatankuasa enggan menjawab apa-apa soalan yang dikemukakan kepadanya atau enggan mengemukakan apa-apa kertas, buku, rekod, atau dokumen dengan alasan bahawa kertas, buku, rekod, atau dokumen itu adalah bersifat persendirian dan tidak menjejaskan subjek siasatan itu, maka Yang Dipertua, atau Pengerusi jawatankuasa itu, mengikut mana yang berkenaan, boleh melaporkan keengganan itu dengan alasan baginya, dan Majlis boleh sesudah itu mengecualikan daripada dijawab soalan itu atau daripada dikemukakan kertas, buku, rekod, atau dokumen itu atau boleh memerintahkan supaya ia dijawab atau dikemukakan.
