(1) This Act may be cited as the Control of Rent ,Short title Act 1966 and shall apply to the States of West Malaysia and only. 2) This Act shall have effect, subject to this section ithin the areas of all local authorities including th areas of the City of Kuala Lumpur: Provided that in its application to the said City all bowers vested in and exercisable by the Ruler or the Yang di-Pertua Negeri shall be vested in and exercisable by the Minister charged with responsibility for local government and reference to the State Consolidated Fund in section 27 shall be construed as reference to the Federal Consolidated Fund.
