s 2 Interpretation

In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires— “annual income” means in relation to the net estate of a deceased person, the income that the net estate might be expected at the date of the order, when realised, to yield in a year; “court” means the High Court; “death duties” means estate duty and every other duty leviable or payable on death; “Minister” means the Minister charged with responsibility for the administration of estates; Laws of Malaysia A CT 39 “net estate” means all the property of which a deceased person had power to dispose by his will (otherwise than by virtue of a special power of appointment) less the amount of his funeral, testamentary and administration expenses, debts and liabilities and estate duties payable out of his estate on his death; “will” includes codicil; “son” and “daughter” respectively, include a male or female child adopted by the deceased under the provisions of any written law relating to the adoption of children for the time being in force and also the son or daughter of the deceased en ventre sa mere at the date of the deceased.

Dalam Akta ini, melainkan jika kandongan ayat-nya Tafsiran. menghendaki makna yang lain— "pendapatan tahunan" berhubong dengan harta pesaka erseh sa-saorang simati, erti-nya pendapatan yang di angka pada tarikh sa-suatu perentah akan di-peroleh daripada harta pesaka berseh itù dalam satu tahun apabila di-perhasilkan; "Mahkamah" erti-nya Mahkamah Tinggi; [S. 2-3] "duti kematian" erti-nya duti harta pesaka dan apa? duti lain yang boleh di-levi atau di-bayar atas kematian; "Menteri" erti-nya Menteri yang bertanggongjawab atas pentadbiran harta pesaka; pesaka yang kena di-bayar dari harta pesaka-nya apabila ia mati: "wasiat" termasok-lah kodisil; lah sa-orang kanak2 lelaki atau kanak2 perempuan yang di-ambil menjadi anak angkat oleh simati di-bawah peruntokan mana2 undang2 bertulis berhubong dengan pengambilan anak angkat yang berkuatkuasa pada masa itù dan juga anak lelaki atau anak perempuan simati yang maseh alila
