s 45 Notice of accident to be given
(1) Whenever an accident occurs upon a railway—
(a) the railway officer in charge of a station nearest to the place at which the accident occurs shall, without unnecessary delay but in any case not later than twenty-four hours after the occurrence of the accident, give notice of the accident in writing or by any form of telecommunication to the officer in charge of the nearest police station; and
(b) the railway company shall, without unnecessary delay but in any case not later than twenty-four hours after the occurrence of the accident, send written notice of the accident to the Director General.
(2) The notice shall contain a brief statement of the nature of the accident and of the extent of the injuries or damage caused.

Notis mengenai kemalangan hendaklah diberi
(1) Bila masa suatu kemalangan berlaku di atas suatu keretapi—
(a) pegawai keretapi yang menjaga stesen yang paling hampir dengan tempat di mana kemalangan itu berlaku hendaklah, tanpa kelengahan yang tidak perlu tetapi dalam apa-apa hal tidak lewat dari dua puluh empat jam selepas kemalangan itu berlaku, memberi notis mengenai kemalangan itu secara bertulis atau melalui apa-apa bentuk telekomunikasi kepada pegawai yang menjaga balai polis yang hampir; dan
(b) syarikat keretapi hendaklah, tanpa kelengahan yang tidak perlu tetapi dalam apa-apa hal tidak lewat dari dua puluh empat jam selepas kemalangan itu berlaku, menghantar notis bertulis mengenai kemalangan itu kepada Ketua Pengarah.
(2) Notis itu hendaklah mengandungi suatu pernyataan ringkas mengenai jenis kemalangan itu dan mengenai takat kecederaan atau kerosakan yang disebabkan oleh kemalangan itu.
