Gas Supply Act 1993 s 1
s 1 Short title, commencement and application
(1) This Act may be cited as the Gas Supply Act 1993 and shall come into force on such date as the Minister may, by notification in the Gazette, appoint.
(2) This Act shall apply throughout Malaysia; however the Minister may by order suspend the operation of the whole or any of the provisions of this Act in any State.
(3) This Act shall apply to the supply of gas to consumers through pipelines—
(a) downstream of the last flange of the city gate station; or
(b) from the filling connection of a storage tank or cylinder specifically used for reticulation or delivery of gas to any apparatus in any premises.
(4) In subsection (3)—
“city gate station” means a station with gas measurement and pressure-regulating facilities where gas is received directly from the gas transmission pipelines and subsequently delivered through the gas pipeline distribution system for the supply of gas to the consumer;
“transmission pipelines” means pipelines transporting gas from the outlet of the gas processing plant or receiving terminal to the inlet of the city gate station.

Tajuk ringkas, permulaan kuat kuasa dan pemakaian
(1) Akta ini bolehlah dinamakan Akta Bekalan Gas 1993 dan hendaklah mula berkuat kuasa pada tarikh yang ditetapkan oleh Menteri melalui pemberitahuan dalam Warta.
(2) Akta ini hendaklah terpakai di seluruh Malaysia; bagaimanapun Menteri boleh melalui perintah menggantung kuat kuasa keseluruhan atau mana-mana peruntukan Akta ini di mana-mana Negeri.
(3) Akta ini hendaklah terpakai bagi pembekalan gas kepada pengguna melalui talian paip—
(a) ke hilir dari bebibir penghujung stesen pintu kota; atau
(b) dari sambungan pengisian tangki atau silinder penstoran yang digunakan khusus bagi penyeliratan atau penghantaran gas ke mana-mana radas di mana-mana premis.
(4) Dalam subseksyen (3)—
“stesen pintu kota” ertinya suatu stesen yang mempunyai kemudahan pengukuran dan pengaturan tekanan gas di mana gas diterima terus dari talian paip penghantaran gas dan kemudiannya dihantar melalui sistem pengagihan talian paip gas bagi pembekalan gas kepada pengguna;
“talian paip penghantaran” ertinya talian paip yang mengangkut gas dari alur keluar loji pemprosesan atau pangkalan penerima gas ke alur masuk stesen pintu kota.
