Consumer Protection Act 1999 s 6

s 6 No contracting out

(1) The provisions of this Act shall have effect notwithstanding anything to the contrary in any agreement. (2) Every supplier and every manufacturer who purports to contract out of any provision of this Act commits an offence. (3) Nothing in subsection (1) shall prevent a consumer who has a claim under this Act from agreeing to settle or compromise that claim.

Tidak boleh berkontrak keluar

(1) Peruntukan Akta ini hendaklah berkuat kuasa walau apa pun apa-apa jua yang bertentangan dalam mana-mana perjanjian. (2) Tiap-tiap pembekal dan tiap-tiap pengilang yang berupa sebagai berkontrak keluar daripada mana-mana peruntukan Akta ini adalah melakukan suatu kesalahan. (3) Tiada apa-apa jua dalam subseksyen (1) boleh menghalang pengguna yang mempunyai tuntutan di bawah Akta ini daripada bersetuju untuk menyelesaikan atau mengkompromikan tuntutan itu.
