East Coast Economic Region Development Council Act 2008 s 15
s 15 Employment of officers and servants of Council
(1) The Council shall establish a scheme of service and may, from time to time, employ such number of officers and servants as the Council thinks desirable and necessary to such scheme of service and upon such terms, including terms as to remuneration, allowances and other expenses as the Council considers appropriate, for carrying out the purposes of this Act.
(2) No person shall be eligible for employment as an officer or servant of the Council if he has, directly or indirectly, by himself or through any person or third party, any share or interest in any contract or proposed contract with, for or on behalf of the Council.

Pengambilan kerja pegawai dan pekhidmat Majlis
(1) Majlis hendaklah menubuhkan suatu skim perkhidmatan dan boleh, dari semasa ke semasa, mengambil bekerja apa-apa bilangan pegawai dan pekhidmat sebagaimana yang difikirkan wajar dan perlu oleh Majlis bagi skim perkhidmatan itu dan atas apa-apa terma, termasuk terma mengenai gaji, elaun dan perbelanjaan lain yang difikirkan sesuai oleh Majlis, bagi menjalankan maksud Akta ini.
(2) Tiada seorang pun layak untuk diambil bekerja sebagai pegawai atau pekhidmat Majlis jika dia mempunyai, secara langsung atau tidak langsung, dengan sendiri atau menerusi mana-mana orang atau pihak ketiga, apa-apa syer atau kepentingan dalam mana-mana kontrak atau kontrak yang dicadangkan dengan, bagi atau bagi pihak Majlis.
