s 142 Apprehension of offenders
Any person found committing or attempting to commit an offence against this Act relating to railways may be arrested, without warrant, by any police officer, railway official or land public transport officer, or by any other person whom such police officer, railway official or land public transport officer may call to his aid, and every person so arrested shall, without unnecessary delay, be taken to the nearest police station to be dealt with in accordance with the law relating to criminal procedure for the time being in force:
Provided that a railway official shall not effect any such arrest outside the railway premises.

Mana-mana orang yang didapati melakukan atau cuba untuk melakukan suatu kesalahan terhadap Akta ini yang berhubungan dengan kereta api boleh ditangkap, tanpa waran, oleh mana-mana pegawai polis, pegawai kereta api atau pegawai dilantik, atau oleh mana-mana orang lain yang mungkin dipanggil oleh pegawai polis, pegawai kereta api atau pegawai dilantik itu untuk membantunya, dan tiap-tiap orang yang ditangkap sedemikian hendaklah, tanpa kelengahan yang tidak perlu, dibawa ke balai polis yang paling hampir untuk diperlakukan mengikut undang-undang yang berhubungan dengan tatacara jenayah yang sedang berkuat kuasa:
Dengan syarat bahawa seorang pegawai kereta api tidak boleh melakukan apa-apa tangkapan sedemikian di luar premis kereta api.
