s 40 Short term licence
(1) Where an application has been made for a licence under this Chapter, the Director General of Land Public Transport may, if for administrative reasons or on the ground of the urgency of the matter it thinks it is desirable so to do pending the determination of the application, issue to the applicant a short term licence for such period and subject to such conditions as it thinks fit.
(2) A short term licence shall cease to have effect from the date on which the Director General of Land Public Transport gives its decision on the application, and in no case shall have effect for more than six months.

Lesen jangka pendek
(1) Jika sesuatu permohonan telah dibuat bagi suatu lesen di bawah Bab ini, Suruhanjaya boleh, jika sebab pentadbiran atau atas alasan keterdesakan perkara itu difikirkannya wajar dibuat sedemikian sementara menunggu permohonan itu diputuskan, mengeluarkan kepada pemohon itu suatu lesen jangka pendek bagi apa-apa tempoh dan tertakluk kepada apa-apa syarat yang difikirkannya patut.
(2) Suatu lesen jangka pendek hendaklah terhenti berkuat kuasa dari tarikh Suruhanjaya memberikan keputusannya tentang permohonan itu, dan dalam apa hal jua pun tidak boleh berkuat kuasa lebih daripada enam bulan.
