s 3B Appointment of registration officers and registration agents
(1) The Director General may appoint—
(a) such number of registration officers; and
(b) such number of persons who are not public officers as registration agents, as he deems necessary and expedient.
(2) The Director General may, in relation to any matter or class of matters, appoint any road transport officer or, immigration officer or any officer of any Government department to be a registration officer for the purposes of this Act, and a person so appointed shall exercise his powers and perform his duties subject to the direction and control of the Director General.
(3) A person who is in the employment of the State Government of Sabah or the State Government of Sarawak may not be appointed as a registration officer without the prior written consent of the State Government.

Pelantikan pegawai pendaftaran dan ejen pendaftaran
(1) Ketua Pengarah boleh melantik—
(a) beberapa orang pegawai pendaftaran; dan
(b) beberapa orang ejen pendaftaran, dari mana-mana orang yang bukan pekhidmat awam,
sebagaimana difikirkannya wajar dan perlu.
(2) Ketua Pengarah boleh, dalam hal yang berkaitan dengan mana-mana perkara atau kelas perkara, melantik mana-mana pegawai pengangkutan jalan atau, pegawai imigresen atau mana-mana pegawai dari mana-mana jabatan Kerajaan menjadi pegawai pendaftaran bagi maksud Akta ini, dan seseorang yang telah dilantik itu hendaklah menjalankan kuasa dan melaksanakan tugasnya tertakluk kepada arahan dan kawalan dari Ketua Pengarah.
(3) Seseorang yang berkhidmat dengan Kerajaan Negeri Sabah atau Kerajaan Negeri Sarawak tidak boleh dilantik sebagai pegawai pendaftaran tanpa keizinan bertulis terdahulu daripada Kerajaan Negeri.
Pekhidmat awam
3 C. Semua pegawai pendaftaran hendaklah dianggap sebagai pekhidmat awam bagi maksud Kanun Keseksaan [Akta 574].
