s 25 Obligation on pawnbroker to account for surplus within four months subject to set-off
(1) Where a pledge pawned for a sum exceeding two hundred ringgit is sold, and it appears from the pawnbroker’s book to have been sold for more than the amount of the loan and profit due under section 17 at the time of sale, the pawnbroker shall within seven days after the sale forward by registered post to the pawner at the address of the pawner entered in the pawnbroker’s book under section 14 a statement in the prescribed form and a notice that the surplus will be paid to the pawner if a claim is made by the pawner within four months from the date the notice is served on the pawner.
(2) The pawnbroker shall pay the surplus to the pawner if a claim is made by the pawner within the period of four months as specified in subsection (1).
(3) Any person who contravenes this section commits an offence.

Obligasi pemegang pajak gadai untuk mengakaunkan lebihan dalam tempoh empat bulan tertakluk kepada tolakan
(1) Jika sesuatu sandaran yang dipajakgadaikan untuk wang berjumlah melebihi dua ratus ringgit dijual, dan didapati dari buku pemegang pajak gadai itu bahawa sandaran itu telah dijual untuk wang berjumlah lebih daripada jumlah pinjaman dan keuntungan yang kena dibayar di bawah seksyen 17 pada masa jualan itu, pemegang pajak gadai itu hendaklah dalam tempoh tujuh hari selepas jualan itu menghantar dengan pos berdaftar kepada pemajak gadai di alamat pemajak gadai itu yang dicatatkan dalam buku pemegang pajak gadai di bawah seksyen 14 suatu penyata dalam borang yang ditetapkan dan suatu notis bahawa wang lebihan akan dibayar kepada pemajak gadai jika tuntutan dibuat oleh pemajak gadai dalam masa empat bulan dari tarikh notis itu disampaikan kepada pemajak gadai itu.
(2) Pemegang pajak gadai hendaklah membayar wang lebihan kepada pemajak gadai jika tuntutan dibuat oleh pemajak gadai itu dalam tempoh empat bulan sebagaimana yang dinyatakan dalam subseksyen (1).
(3) Mana-mana orang yang melanggar seksyen ini melakukan suatu kesalahan.
