(1) The Space Regulator shall appoint from amongst the authorized officer a Launch Safety Officer to determine the compliance of a launch permit holder—
(a) with this Act or any regulations made under this Act; or
(b) with the conditions and additional conditions of the launch permit.
(2) For the purposes of subsection (1), the Launch Safety Officer shall have all the powers necessary for the performance of his functions and in particular he may—
(a) inspect, with prior written notice to the launch permit holder, a space object or launch facility;
(b) direct the launch permit holder or any employee, agent or contractor of the launch permit holder to give any information or assistance; and
(c) give any direction to the launch permit holder in relation to the launch of a space object into space or re-entry of a space object that he considers necessary to avoid any danger to public health or to any person or property, including directions to stop the launch or re-entry of, or to destroy, the space object.

Pegawai Keselamatan Pelancaran
(1) Penguasa Angkasa hendaklah melantik dalam kalangan pegawai diberi kuasa seorang Pegawai Keselamatan Pelancaran untuk menentukan kepatuhan pemegang permit pelancaran—
(a) kepada Akta ini atau mana-mana peraturan-peraturan yang dibuat di bawah Akta ini; atau
(b) kepada syarat dan syarat tambahan permit pelancaran.
(2) Bagi maksud subseksyen (1), Pegawai Keselamatan Pelancaran hendaklah mempunyai segala kuasa yang perlu bagi pelaksanaan fungsinya dan secara khususnya dia boleh—
(a) memeriksa, dengan notis bertulis terlebih dahulu kepada pemegang permit pelancaran, suatu objek angkasa atau kemudahan pelancar;
(b) mengarahkan pemegang permit pelancaran atau mana-mana pekerja, ejen atau kontraktor pemegang permit pelancaran untuk memberi apa-apa maklumat atau bantuan; dan
(c) memberi apa-apa arahan kepada pemegang permit pelancaran berhubung dengan pelancaran objek angkasa ke angkasa atau kemasukan semula objek angkasa yang dia fikirkan perlu untuk mengelak apa-apa bahaya kepada kesihatan awam atau kepada mana-mana orang atau apa-apa harta, termasuk arahan untuk menghentikan pelancaran atau kemasukan semula, atau memusnahkan, objek angkasa itu.
