s 22 Voluntary cancellation of registered geographical indication

(1) The registered proprietor may make a request to the Registrar for a voluntary cancellation of a registered geographical indication in respect of any goods in the form as determined by the Registrar together with payment of the prescribed fee. (2) For the purposes of subsection (1), the registered proprietor shall comply with any requirement as prescribed. (3) The Registrar shall cancel the registration of the geographical indication if the Registrar is satisfied that the registered proprietor has complied with the requirements as prescribed. (4) Where the registration of the geographical indication is voluntarily cancelled under this section, the rights conferred by the registration of the geographical indication on any interested party of goods identified by the geographical indication shall cease to exist with effect from the date of the cancellation of the registration.

Pembatalan sukarela petunjuk geografi berdaftar

(1) Tuan punya berdaftar boleh membuat permintaan kepada Pendaftar bagi suatu pembatalan sukarela suatu petunjuk geografi berdaftar berkenaan dengan apa-apa barang dalam bentuk sebagaimana yang ditentukan oleh Pendaftar bersama dengan pembayaran fi yang ditetapkan. (2) Bagi maksud subseksyen (1), tuan punya berdaftar hendaklah mematuhi apa-apa kehendak sebagaimana yang ditetapkan. (3) Pendaftar hendaklah membatalkan pendaftaran petunjuk geografi jika Pendaftar berpuas hati bahawa tuan punya berdaftar itu telah mematuhi kehendak sebagaimana yang ditetapkan. (4) Jika pendaftaran petunjuk geografi itu dibatalkan secara sukarela di bawah seksyen ini, hak yang diberikan oleh pendaftaran petunjuk geografi kepada mana-mana pihak berkepentingan bagi barang yang dikenal pasti oleh petunjuk geografi itu hendaklah terhenti berkuat kuasa dari tarikh pembatalan pendaftaran itu.
