s 29 Recognition of registered geographical indication agent
(1) Any act which is required or authorized by this Act to be done by or to a person in connection with the application for the registration of a geographical indication, or any procedure relating to a registered geographical indication, may be done by or to a registered geographical indication agent duly authorized by the person in the manner as determined by the Registrar.
(2) A person who does not reside or carry on a business principally in Malaysia shall appoint and authorize a registered geographical indication agent to act for him for the purpose of the registration of a geographical indication or any procedure relating to a registered geographical indication in the form as determined by the Registrar together with payment of the prescribed fee.
(3) Upon being appointed and authorized by the person to act for him under subsection (2), a registered geographical indication agent appointed and authorized to act for the person shall, unless terminated by the person or ceases to act for the person in accordance with the prescribed manner together with payment of the prescribed fee—
(a) continue to be the agent of the person; and
(b) be answerable for all acts, matters and things that are required to be done by the person under this Act.
(4) Where a registered geographical indication agent acting for a person intends to cease to act on behalf of the person—
(a) the registered geographical indication agent shall file a notice of intention to cease to act on behalf of the person with the Registrar in the form as determined by the Registrar together with payment of the prescribed fee; and
(b) the registered geographical indication agent shall notify the person in the manner as determined by the Registrar.
(5) The agent shall cease to be the agent for the person upon the Registrar being satisfied that the agent has complied with subsection (4).

Pengiktirafan ejen petunjuk geografi berdaftar
(1) Apa-apa perbuatan yang dikehendaki atau dibenarkan oleh Akta ini untuk dilakukan oleh atau kepada seseorang yang berkaitan dengan permohonan bagi pendaftaran suatu petunjuk geografi, atau apa-apa tatacara yang berhubungan dengan suatu petunjuk geografi berdaftar, boleh dilakukan oleh atau kepada seseorang ejen petunjuk geografi berdaftar yang diberi kuasa sewajarnya oleh orang itu mengikut cara sebagaimana yang ditentukan oleh Pendaftar.
(2) Seseorang yang tidak menetap atau menjalankan perniagaan utamanya di Malaysia hendaklah melantik dan memberi kuasa kepada seseorang ejen petunjuk geografi berdaftar untuk bertindak baginya bagi maksud pendaftaran suatu petunjuk geografi atau mana-mana tatacara yang berhubungan dengan suatu petunjuk geografi berdaftar dalam bentuk sebagaimana yang ditentukan oleh Pendaftar bersama dengan pembayaran fi yang ditetapkan.
(3) Apabila dilantik dan diberi kuasa oleh orang itu untuk bertindak baginya di bawah subseksyen (2), seseorang ejen petunjuk geografi berdaftar yang dilantik dan diberi kuasa untuk bertindak bagi orang itu hendaklah, melainkan jika ditamatkan oleh orang itu atau terhenti untuk bertindak bagi orang itu mengikut cara yang ditetapkan bersama dengan pembayaran fi yang ditetapkan—
(a) terus menjadi ejen orang itu; dan
(b) bertanggungjawab bagi segala perbuatan, perkara dan benda yang dikehendaki untuk dilakukan oleh orang itu di bawah Akta ini.
(4) Jika seseorang ejen petunjuk geografi berdaftar yang bertindak bagi seseorang berniat untuk berhenti untuk bertindak bagi pihak orang itu—
(a) ejen petunjuk geografi berdaftar itu hendaklah memfailkan suatu notis niat untuk berhenti untuk bertindak bagi pihak orang itu dengan Pendaftar dalam bentuk sebagaimana yang ditentukan oleh Pendaftar bersama dengan pembayaran fi yang ditetapkan; dan
(b) ejen petunjuk geografi berdaftar itu hendaklah memberitahu orang itu mengikut cara sebagaimana yang ditentukan oleh Pendaftar.
(5) Ejen itu hendaklah terhenti menjadi ejen bagi orang itu apabila Pendaftar berpuas hati bahawa ejen itu telah mematuhi subseksyen (4).
