s 83 Exception for certain uses of registered geographical indication
Section 77 shall not apply to the use in the course of trade of—
(a) any name contained in a registered geographical indication in relation to any goods or services where the name is identical with the term customary in common language to describe such goods or services in Malaysia; or
(b) any individual component contained in the registered geographical indication where the individual component is identical to a term customary in the common language as the common name of any goods or services in Malaysia.

Kecualian bagi penggunaan tertentu petunjuk geografi berdaftar
Seksyen 77 tidak terpakai bagi penggunaan dalam penjalanan perdagangan—
(a) apa-apa nama yang terkandung dalam suatu petunjuk geografi berdaftar berhubung dengan apa-apa barang atau perkhidmatan yang nama itu sama dengan terma yang lazim dalam bahasa umum untuk memperihalkan barang atau perkhidmatan itu di Malaysia; atau
(b) apa-apa komponen individu yang terkandung dalam petunjuk geografi berdaftar yang komponen individu itu sama dengan terma yang lazim dalam bahasa umum sebagai nama umum apa-apa barang atau perkhidmatan di Malaysia.
