AN ACT ABOLISHING THE OFFICES OF ASSISTANT ATTORNEY-GENERAL FOR THE BUREAU OF PHILIPPINES CONSTABULARY, ASSISTANT SOLICITOR-GENERAL, SUPERVISOR OF PROVINCIAL FISCALS, AND DEPUTY SUPERVISOR OF PROVINCIAL FISCALS, AND SUBSTITUTING IN LIEU THEREOF PROVISION FOR ASSISTANT ATTORNEYS IN THE OFFICE OF THE ATTORNEY-GENERAL.

Section 1

SECTION 1. Acts Numbered Five hundred and sixty, entitled "An Act providing for the appointment in the Attorney-General's office of a Deputy Supervisor of Provincial Fiscals;" Six hundred and eighty-three entitled "An Act creating the position of Assistant-Solicitor-General in the office of the Attorney-General for the Philippine Islands, and fixing the salary of such position:" Seven hundred and eleven, entitled "An Act to create the office of Assistant Attorney-General for the Bureau of Philippines Constabulary," and subsection (a) of section forty-seven of Act Numbered One hundred and thirty-six, entitled "An Act providing for the organization of courts in the Philippine Islands," as amended by section one of Act Numbered Three hundred and twenty-five, are hereby repealed.

Section 2

SEC. 2. Subsection (b) of section forty-seven of Act Numbered One hundred and thirty-six, as amended by section one of Act Numbered Three hundred and twenty-five, section one of Act Numbered Three hundred and seventy-eight, and section three of Act Numbered Five hundred and twenty-three, is hereby amended so as to read as follows:

"(b) There shall be in the Bureau of Justice eleven officers learned in the law wiled assistant attorneys, who shall be appointed by the Governor-General, by and with the advice and consent of the Philippine Commission, and shall assist and represent the Attorney-General and the Solicitor-General in the performance of their duties. Each of said officers shall be entitled to a salary to be fixed by the Governor-General, with the approval of the Commission, which shall not exceed three thousand dollars per annum."

Section 3

SEC. 3. Any moneys appropriated for salaries and wages, Bureau of Justice, for the fiscal year nineteen hundred and five by Act Numbered Twelve hundred and twenty-five, are hereby made available for payment of the salaries in this Act provided.

Section 4

SEC. 4. The public good requiring the speedy enactment of this bill, the passage of the same is hereby expedited in accordance with section two of "An Act prescribing the order of procedure by the Commission in the enactment of laws," passed September twenty-sixth, nineteen hundred.

Section 5

SEC. 5. This Act shall take effect on its passage.

Enacted, April 1, 1905.
