AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION TWO OF ACT NUMBERED THIRTY-ONE HUNDRED AND SIXTEEN, AS AMENDED, ENTITLED "AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL TO PURCHASE ON BE­HALF OF THE GOVERNMENT OF THE PHILIPPINE ISLANDS, SEVENTY THOU­SAND SHARES OF THE CAPITAL STOCK OF THE .MANILA RAILROAD COMPANY OF THE PHILIPPINE ISLANDS, AND TO PROVIDE FUNDS FOR PAYING THE PRICE OF SAID SHARES.

Section 1

SECTION 1. Section two of Act Numbered Thirty-one hundred and sixteen is amended so as to read as follows:

"SEC. 2. The Manila Railroad Company of the Philip­pines shall expend these funds for the construction of rail­road lines and the purchase of the necessary rolling stock equipment therefor, and especially for the completion of the lines between Aloneros, Tayabas, and Pamplona, Camarines Sur; between Bauang Sur and San Fernando, La Union; between San Quintin and Tayug, Pangasinan; and between Taiiac, Tarlac, and San Jose, Nueva Ecija, and for the construction or acquisition of hotels and rest-houses at various points in the Philippines."

Section 2

SEC. 2. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
