Section 7

SEC. 7. Appointment and compensation.—The Mayor shall be the chief executive of the city. The Mayor shall be appointed by the President, with the consent of the Commission on Appointments of the National Assembly, and shall hold office at the pleasure of the President. He shall receive a salary of four thousand eight hundred pesos a year. With the approval of the Secretary of the Interior, the Mayor may receive, in addition to his salary, a not commutable allowance of two thousand pesos per annum.
