Section 76
SEC. 76. The city government provided for in this Charter shall begin to exist on the date of the qualification of the provincial and municipal officers elected at the first general election held after the approval of this Act. Pending the establishment and organization of the city departments, the present officers performing functions and exercising powers in behalf of the municipal government of Iloilo, shall continue to perform the same and shall receive their present remuneration until they shall have been replaced by the city officers appointed under this Charter. The present municipal government is empowered to adopt, with the consent of the Secretary of the Interior, all such measures as it may deem necessary to prepare for the organization of the new city government.
