SEC. 16. Appointment of Policewomen.-Women may be appointed into the police service for assignments in youth aid or juvenile control units, in the custodial service as jail matrons, in training and administrative duties, and in certain police operations where the services of policewomen are necessary or are more effective like the handling, investigation, search and arrest of female or youth offenders. The total number of the female members of the Integrated National Police nationwide, or in each command or unit shall not exceed five per centum of the total strength of the force.
