Preamble

WHEREAS, there is a need to change the name of the Bureau of Mines to make it responsive to the multi-varied functions invested under Presidential Decree No. 1281; and WHEREAS, there are other functions which should be included in the existing Presidential Decree No. 1281 to enable the Bureau of Mines to administratively function smoothly and efficiently. NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by the Constitution, do hereby decree and order, as follows:
