ART. 199. Temporary Total Disability. — In case the injury causes temporary total disability for labor, the System shall, during such disability( pay the injured employee a weekly income benefit equivalent to sixty percent (60%) of his average weekly wage for a period not beyond two hundred eight (208) weeks but the total compensation shall not exceed twelve thousand pesos (P12,000). His income benefit shall not be less than twenty-six pesos (726) per week, except where his average weekly wage is less than this amount, in which case the weekly compensation shall be the entire amount of such average weekly wage. No income benefit shall be allowed for the first three (3) calendar days of disability; but if the disability extends beyond that period, compensation shall be allowed from the date of disability. The day on which the injury occurred shall be included in computing this waiting period unless the employee has been paid full wages for that day.
