SEC. 7. The first paragraph of section twenty-four of Commonwealth Act Numbered Five hundred and twenty is amended to read as follows: "SEC. 24. The city attorney-His powers and duties.- The city attorney shall be the chief legal adviser of the city. He shall receive a salary of not exceeding four thousand two hundred pesos per annum. He shall have the following powers and duties:"
