SEC. 8. The first paragraph of section twenty-five of Commonwealth Act Numbered Five hundred and twenty is amended to read as follows: "SEC. 25. The chief of police-His powers, duties and compensation.-There shall be a chief of police who shall have charge of the police department. He shall receive a salary of not exceeding three thousand six hundred pesos per annum. He shall have the following general powers and duties:"
