Section 92 — What is an archive

An “archive” is any collection of materials (including documents and objects) of historical significance or public interest that is —

(a)in the permanent custody of a corporate or an unincorporated body;

(b)maintained by that body for the purpose of conservation or preservation; and

(c)not run for profit by that body.Illustration Museums and galleries are examples of bodies that could have custody of archives.
