s 340 Amendment of section 49
340. In the Control of Plants Act 1993, in section 49(2) —(a) delete paragraphs (c), (d), (e), (f), (h), (s), (t) and (u); (b) after paragraph (l), insert —“(la) providing for a freeze on the grant, and for the cancelling, of any permit authorising the introduction into Singapore of any pest, when there is in force a directive made under section 70 of the Food Safety and Security Act 2025 banning the import of any live food producing animal of a particular kind from a particular country or place outside Singapore and where the permit or the grant thereof would be inconsistent with the directive;”; and (c) in paragraph (v), delete “fresh fruits or vegetables which are the subject of”.
