The amendments of the Town and Country Planning Act 1971 and Schedule 16 to the Local Government Act 1972 contained in the Schedule to this Act shall have effect.

(1) This Act may be cited as the Local Government and Planning (Amendment) Act 1981.
(2) Paragraph 6 of the Schedule to this Act shall come into operation on the date on which there expires the period of four months beginning with the day on which this Act is passed.
(3) Subject to subsection (2) above, this Act shall come into operation on the date on which there expires the period of one month beginning with the day on which it is passed.
